All About The Selfie!

Polaroid style photos are all the rage at the moment. I love the smaller size, the white border and the white space at the bottom to add some journaling. Instant cameras like the Fuji Instax are also hugely popular for people that do SMASH*ing and Project Life. I really didn't want to buy another camera so I came up with my own way to get the Polaroid look! It seems obvious once you know how but I have many queries all the time so I thought I would share here.

I import the photos into a Word document then I resize them and leave white space around each photo. For my SMASH*books I usually resize the photos to 6x8cm. The photo on this layout is 8x11cm. I fill an A4 page with photos (I usually get 8 on a page) then I print them out on my Epson XP-600. Finally I trim into the polaroid look you see leaving a 5mm border around the top and sides and a 15mm border at the bottom.

Today I would like to show you another scrapbook layout I created using the gorgeous Nov '12 Half Tart kit from Lime Tart. The papers are so pretty!!

I just love this photo of my eldest daughter, I have used it on a previous SMASH* page and had to use it again for my Scrapbooking.

For my background paper I've used another of the Glitz Design Cashmere Dame collection papers that was included in the kit. I splattered some blue paint across the page then matted and layered a heap of the patterned papers behind the photo.
I added to the existing bunting on the background paper by hand cutting some blue banner elements from the cardstock in the kit.
I made my own rolled rose flowers using some circle punches and a scallop circle punch.
I used the alphas in the kit for the title. I completed the page by adding some wood veneers, rhinestones, sequins, diecut leaves, a row of pearls and flair from my stash.
In addition to the kit I've used a wood veneer from Freckled Fawn, Prima and Studio Calico; Flair from A Piece of Cake Designs; Stampin' Up! punches; KaiserCraft rhinestones; and sequins, chevron bag, & shipping tag from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by

Love the way you have accented the background paper with your own special touches Karyn - they work perfectly with the overall look of the layout. Such a good topic to scrap these days too:)
