For my sweetheart!

Valentines day and my 4th wedding Anniversary  are coming up so I wanted to make a card for my darling hubby.
I'm joining in the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges # 3 (a sketch challenge) and All That Scraps Challenges (early Valentines ideas).
I've stuck with a grey/black/white/silver colour scheme and added enough embellishments to make it romantic but still masculine (I hope!).

Dexter Meets Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges

I've been wanting to participate in the Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges for a while now. Some of the first images I saw for colouring were cute animals by Motivet - and I instantly fell in love. I wanted to make a masculine card - I find these hard to make, but am pretty happy with how this turned out. It looks a bit plain but I think that male cards need to be.
Stamps : Dexter (Motivet)

Other :  scallop border punch, buttons, twill tape, Aquapainter (Stampin' Up!), Labels 2 dies (Spellbinders)

A "Tickled Pink Meets Inkspirations" Bookmark!

This week is the first challenge on the new Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge blog "Anything Goes" (using a stamp or image from the Tickled Pink Stamps range). I also joined in on the Inkspirations Challenges blog # 52 which is a colour challenge.

I decided to make a bookmark (well 3 actually) and used a design that I saw at a local fair. For each bookmark I used a strip of cardstock 5cm x 17cm. I then scored a line 5cm from one end and folded it over. This allows the bookmark to slide over a page. I attached a jumbo eyelet to the top to hold down the fold and allow a ribbon to be attached. I didnt add to much dimension in the decoration else it gets to bulky when used in a book. The cupcake image is attached using dimensionals though and I've put kindyglitz around most of the edges of card/paper and on the cupcakes.
This was a fun and useful project!

Rachael's Challenge Debut!!

As I mentioned in my previous post  my daughter Rachael and I spent some quality time together today making cards. Rachael was also very keen to try her hand at some online challenges. Rachael is only 9yo and she has done an amazing job with her creation. It is surprising how challenging colour and paper choice is for children as well as cutting things the right size and straight can be - even when you have all the tools! It can be very frustrating when she likes everything to be perfect!
The challenge this week at All That Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenges is "New Year" and the challenge this month at Tickled Pink Stamps Monthly Challenges is a sketch challenge. So she has combined both to make a desk calandar for 2011.

Happy New Year and A Desk Calendar!

Happy New Year everyone!
I hope you had a fabulous start to the year and wish you all the best for 2011.
Today my daughter and I spent some quality time together making cards while my youngest was having her afternoon nap. We had so much fun and decided to focus our efforts towards a few of the current online challenges.
The challenge this week at All That Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenges is "New Year" and the challenge this month at Tickled Pink Stamps Monthly Challenges is a sketch challenge. So I've combined both to make a desk calandar for 2011 based on an Easel card.
