Project Life 2015 Cover Page!

Today I'm showing you the cover page for my "Schultz Family 2015" Project Life Album.

All the goodies used on this page are from Scrappy Canary. In particular the January pocket life kit - Candy Heart. The sequins are from the January Scrapbook Kit - Lots Of Love. These cork accents go so well with the blue patterned papers and gold alphas!
Anyways, here are some close-ups
The polka dot paper used on this card are from the Elle's Studio Packaging of the cork accents - suits perfectly!

I print all my photos on my Epson XP-600.and I've used a SMASH* pen for journalling.

Happy Day!

Today I'm sharing the final pages in my "SMASH*ing 2014" journal (using the Tasty SMASH* folio). I'm so glad to finish it! The end of the year is always so rushed and far to busy that in some ways you just want to be over it all and move on to the new year. My motto has been to keep it simple and achievable and enjoy the process - and I've achieved that!

On these pages I've used lots of miscellaneous pieced from my craft desk, these word stickers are perfect accents!!

The photos were taken on Christmas day, opening presents and playing with bubbles - such fun moments from the day!
 A closer look:
I made both of these flair - using patterned paper scraps from my desk:
And here is my finished book - I will cover it later:
Supplies include: Freckled Fawn October 2014 and Christmas OHDEERME kits; SMASH* pen for journalling; Heidi Swapp word stickers; Pebbles roller date stamp. Photos printed on my Epson XP-600.

Schultz Family Album - Week 1!

Hello Lovelies!!

Today is my first DT post over on the Scrappy Canary Blog where I'm using the January pocket life kit - Candy Heart. This kit is adorable! Although the kit initially appears quite girly I think I've been able to show a more masculine side for some of the photos I've used.

These pages are of week 1 in my "Schultz Family 2015" Project Life Album. I have been slow starting this 2015 Album because I've been madly finishing my 3 albums/journals from 2014. And it is school holidays here so that seems to slow things down for me :)
This is my first Project Life yearly album and I'm still sorting out how I want to structure it. Yes, I did a December Daily/Christmas Album but that was a but different with many more photos taken and I worked on 2 days to a page. At this stage I'm going with a week to an opening (2 pages) but I may cut it back to a week to a page - I will see how I go and I'm not bothered if it changes week to week.

I'm also still thinking about how best to do my main "Week 1" journalling card. I did look around for some printables but couldn't find what I wanted - suggestions welcome :)

Anyways, here is a close up of the LHS:
I print all my photos on my Epson XP-600. I import them into a word document, resize to suit (leaving enough space for a white border) and print out an A4 sheet at a time. I prefer to use Kodak Ultra Premium High Gloss (or Studio Gloss if available) Photo paper. I use a SMASH* pen for journalling.

On this page everything is from the January pocket life kit - Candy Heart except for the sequins which are from the January Scrapbook Kit - Lots Of Love, and the number wood veneer which were a Scrappy Canary Christmas exclusive (and have sold out).
I watercoloured on a piece of white cardstock and attached it behind the cutouts on this card.

The alphas, puffy stickers and other elements all add perfect touches to the cards.
For this card I've also followed the Scrappy Canary January sketch - I just flipped sides, easy!
Here is a close up of the RHS. This week was quite a serious and sombre one for our family as all the photos on this page show. The fires in the Adelaide Hills were devastating and were right on our doorstep. In the end we were lucky that the fires were contained just metres from our property boundaries.
In keeping with the nature of the photos I kept my page more on the "clean and simple" side and more masculine. The cork embellishments in the kit were perfect for this.

I must tell you a funny story about these cork embellishments. As I was sitting at my craft desk taking the packaging of all the kit elements I was sure I could smell smoke. Given the recent fires I leaped out of my seat and thoroughly checked inside and outside of the house in search of smoke/fire. I couldn't find anything wrong, so I sat back down and continued crafting. I could still smell it - then I realised it was these cork embellishments - must be something to do with the black burnishing on them lol!
Again, everything is from the Candy Heart kit except for the wood veneer arrows and roller date stamp from my stash.

Currently Me - Week 52!

Woo Hoo! Another Journal finished!! This time it is my my "Currently Me 2014" SMASH* journal.

I've really loved making this journal and having commonality throughout it (via the Currently cards), but I'm also glad to finish it. This year I'm going to try something different. I'm still deciding what format, but I want to continue to do something about me - maybe less structured in an art journal  ...  I will let you know!

On these pages I've leftovers from my Christmas embellishments and stickers from Stampin' Up! as well as a 2014 flair from Kellie Stamps.
A closer look:
The finished book - I will do the cover later!

Currently Me - Weeks 50-51!

Today I'm sharing two more pages for December in my "Currently Me 2014" SMASH* journal. On these pages I've mainly used goodies from the Freckled Fawn October 2014 OHDEERME kit. I really love these kits but have recently stopped my subscription - the postage costs and falling Australian dollar just made them too expensive :(

Christmas Album - December 31!

Woohoo! I've finished my Christmas album!! Here is my last page, for December 31, and my title page. Initially I decided to do my title page at the end so i could include some photos, but once I got to the end I decided I didnt want to include any photos on it - I can change my mind, right?!?!

For the first page I've used completely non-christmasy papers. Firstly because I had used up all the Christmas papers, cards and accessories I had, and also because I needed a change!

Arent these papers gorgeous!! They are from the Scrappy Canary  August 2014 kit "Gypsy". I've done 3 pages so far using the kit and just love everything in it.
This tarnished gold embellishment was part of a pack of embellishments my awesome husband gave me for Christmas - isnt it gorgeous! He had lots of fun picking a few things out at our LSS!
Other supplies include: Freckled Fawn wood veneer (number, word) and paperclips; Stampin' Up! grid 3x4 cards; Kellie Stamps "summer" flair; SMASH* pen for journalling. Photos printed on my Epson XP-600.

And here is my title page. No photos here! I used some scraps of papers that I had, some watercoloured cards, and some of the gorgeous handmade embellishments from Charms creations!

Supplies include: Teresa Collins Albums made easy journalling cards - Studio Gold; Freckled Fawn wood veneer (stars); Studio Calico star, tree and joy wood veneer and gold stars; Chic Tags gold alphas; My Minds Eye Lost & Found Christmas patterned paper;  Stampin' Up! white cardstock; gold glitter thickers; and Charms creations star and arrow embellishments.

Christmas Album - December 14-17!

Although you have seen regular blog posts from me for the past week (well almost) It was due to me being organised and scheduling a heap of posts.

There have been terrible fires in the Adelaide Hills over the last week - all very close to our home/farm. Fortunately we have been saved but many homes and properties have been burnt. The clean up will take many days/weeks and has extensively disrupted roads in the area. I haven't had time for any crafting - lucky I still have a few pages from my Christmas album to show you.

I've loved using a gold based colour scheme for my album this year - and I love gold doilies!!
