Weekly Challenges - With Scrapping Clearly!

Hi Lovelies!

Today I have some Art Journal pages to share with you, created with lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly! These are pages I've been creating for the weekly challenges.

This first page is created on a cotton rag watercolour page in my 8x10 Dina Wakley Media Journal. I started by adding some colour to the page using Prima Watercolor Confections - Classics. Next I added stencilling using Colour Blast Pastes through the Kaisercraft Dots-and-dashes stencil. Then I added stamping using the Kaisercraft Hide-and-seek stamp set. Lastly I added some white muslin and puffy stickers from my stash. Here are some close ups of the page.

The next page is created on a calico page in my 8x10 Dina Wakley Media Journal.

I've started by applying clear gesso over the page. Then painting DWM Marine acrylic paint in places across my page. Then I added stencilling using a 13 Arts Round with Butterfly stencil and TCW black modelling paste. Next I added stamping using a variety of background stamps and black Archival ink.

To finish the page I added some coloured muslin, diecuts, book paper, dressmaking pattern, tissue paper, and cotton thread from my stash. I also added some Tim Holtz small talk word stickers.

The last page is created on a cotton rag watercolour page in my 8x10 Dina Wakley Media Journal.

I started by adding colour using Prima Watercolor Confections - Decadent Pies. Next I added stencilling using Platinum modelling paste through the Kaisercraft Dots-and-dashes stencil. Then I added stamping using a variety of background stamps and black Archival ink.

I found the picture on Pinterest and printed it out on photo paper.

I've matted some old book paper under 2 corners of the photo. I've added Tim Holtz wings and Tim Holtz small talk - snarky, word stickers. I've added doodling around the edge of the page using a Fude ball pen. Lastly I added some splatters using  Liquitex carbon black ink.

Earth Angels - With Bee Arty!

Hi Lovelies!

Today I have a scrapbook page to share with you made using lots of amazing products from Bee Arty!

Once again my white cardstock shortage encouraged me to use some old white/black patterned paper. This page had black script so I added white gesso under where my photo was going and along the left edge. I also added some clear gesso over the rest of the page.

For my background I chose a cool colour palatte of blues and teals, using Mermaid, Oasis and Marine Colour Artist inks. Using 1 colour at a time I added drips of the ink to the page then blew the ink using a straw.

Once this was thoroughly dry I added splatters of each ink colour.

Again, let this dry completely than add Deep Water Colour Paste through the Bricked stencil in places across the page.

Here is my finished page. I chose a photo of my girls from Christmas!

I cut up all the word elements from Earth Angel paper from the Spread Your Wings collection to use as embellishments. I've matted my photo on a white paper doilie.

Along the RHS of my page I've added an embellishment cluster using flowers, a doilie, paper elements cut from the Earth Angel paper, word stickers, some muslin dyed with Mermaid Colour Artist inks, and a white paper die cut created using the Honeycomb Metal Die.

Around my photo I've added more embellishment clusters using flowers, paper elements cut from the Earth Angel paper, word stickers, metal embellishments, some muslin dyed with Mermaid Colour Artist inks, and a white paper die cut created using the Honeycomb Metal Die

I've left some of the honeycomb elements in place for a fun honey-like effect.

Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful - With Scrapping Clearly!

Hi Lovelies!

Today I have a scrapbook page that I created using the Heidi Swapp Art Walk collection and lots of other fun products available at Scrapping Clearly!

I usually like to add an element of mixed media to my pages but the papers in this collection are already quite arty looking so there was no need to add anything else.

For my background I have used the Pinks paper - isnt it so cool!

Underneath my photo I have used mats of other papers from the collection including Tropics, and a card cut from Story Art. I've also added a jumbo paperclip, HS paper flower and Studio Calico wood veneer. The word strip was cut from the Story Art paper.

At the bottom of my page I have used another HS paper flower, Studio Calico wood veneer, A MAMBI puffy word sticker and a HS embellishment frame.

At the bottom left of my photo I've included an embellishment cluster with HS paper flower, A MAMBI puffy word stickerHS Ghost Alphas, and Studio Calico chipboard heart stickers.

Live For Today - With Bee Arty!

Hi Lovelies!

Today I have a scrapbook page to share with you made using lots of amazing products from Bee Arty!

I'm also joining in with the May Creative Challenge "Get in the Picture". We would love for you to join in on the challenge and be in the running to win a $30 online store voucher!

I wanted to use papers from the "Forever My Always" Collection designed by the talented Fiona Paltridge. So I selected colours for my background that complemented this kit.

For the first layer of my background I used a selection of Colour Shimmer dusts, Mica Powders, and Shimmer sprays. I always start by trialing the colours on white cardstock. I do also have colour swatches of all available colours but I really like to see just the colours I intend to use on a single sample swatch. I didnt have a navy blue shimmer dust so I mixed midnight with cobalt - perfect! Always remember that you can do this to get the perfect colour match for your project!

Now that my colours have been selected I create my background. I use a painting with plastic technique to do this. I add one colour at a time (drying thoroughly in-between colours). I used Midnight-Cobalt Colour Shimmer dust blend, Stormy Weather Mica Powder,  Bling Shimmer spray, and Midnight Colour Shimmer dust. Lastly I add splatters of each of these colours.

Once the background is completely dry I add some stamping using the Forever My Always Forever Always clear stamp, where I have just inked up the flowers in her hair section.

Then I add stencilling using the Triangle Spray A5 stencil with Bling Colour paste.

 Here is my finished page.

Underneath my photo I have layered a white paper doilie and some X & O paper from the Forever My Always collection. I've also added flowers fussy cut from the Gentle Heart paper.

I've also added some chipboard and flowers from my stash.

May Moodboard - With Scrapping Clearly!

Hi Lovelies!

Today I have a page in my Art Journal that I created using lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly!

I'm playing along with the May moodboard challenge. We would love for you to join in with this challenge and be in the running to win a Scrapping Clearly store voucher. You have until May 31 and you need to upload your challenge here

I've used a calico page in my 8x10 Dina Wakley Media Journal. I find these pages a bit challenging because they react differently with paint. I started by adding a layer of clear gesso to the page. I used clear because I wanted the calico to still be a highlight of the page. Next I added a water wash of DWM Marine acrylic paint

I took a white DWM tag and some white cardstock and added  more DWM paints in Eggplant, Marine and Sky (colours from the moodboard).

I stamped an Art-By-Marlene bird stamp onto some watercolour paper then painted using Prima Watercolor Confections Classics. Once the paint was dry I added some neon pencil highlights then fussy cut this bird to add to my page.

Here is my finished page.

I've used some metal dies to cut shapes from the painted paper. I've matted the bird on the tag as well as some of the die-cuts.

I've added Tim Holtz small talk - snarky, word stickers as well as some mark making and doodling using Posca paint pens.
