Saucepan Band!

Some of the best toys come from your kitchen cupboards - dont you think? Well, that and empty boxes hehehe! This day my youngest daughter took out all the saucepans and created her own drum kit, very creative but oh so noisy!!

Sunglasses!

Why are my sunglasses the major attraction for my children to grab as soon as we get in the car? Is it the same for you? Makes for good photos though, and is pretty cute too!

Peek-a-boo at the Beach!

Do you have a teen or pre-teen daughter? Does she love to be in every photo you take? ... well, mine does - can you see her peeking in the background of both of these photos!! too funny!!

Had to be SMASH*ed of course. I was trying out some more mixed media here - swiping some gesso on the page then stamping over it, all experimental but worth a play :)

Steam Trains!

A family day for us recently was to go to the SteamFest where we could look at and ride on a steam engine.  It was a great day out and we also found a nice coffee shop with some yummy desserts! I had to take many photos (of course!) and save the tickets for SMASH*ing.

SMASH*ing in Animal Print!

My eldest daughter loves to shop (as do we all hehehe). As well as shopping she loves having photos taken of her and taking lots and lots and lots of selfies - with the poses of course! She just loved this animal print dress so I took my inspiration for these SMASH pages from the colours. 

I've used my Red SMASH* folio and misted the background using a Studio Calico mask. Hair cuts!

I've really been enjoying doing some "beginners" mixed media in my SMASH* books lately. It does make the pages warp a bit and I'm still getting the hang of using paint in different ways but I'm loving the result and finding that I prefer to use less embellishments and let the background stand out.

These photos are my daughters after they both had haircuts earlier this year. Rachael even had a fringe/bang cut in!

Riding in an Ambulance!

A few weeks ago at school my daughter fell off some of the play equipment, hit her head, and hurt her back. I received that aweful phone call from the school saying "we need to call an ambulance ... is that ok". OMG ... panic. I drove straight to school and and travelled down to the city in the ambulance - once I calmed down I even managed to take some photos. Luckily Rachael just had bad bruising and had to rest for a few days, whew!!

On My Bike!

During the last school holidays we spent some time teaching our youngest how to ride her bike without training wheels. Although we live on a farm with lots of open space the ground is quite steep and uneven so it is a bit hard to learn to ride a bike. So we took her to a local sports oval for a few days in a row where she could ride on the oval - softer for falling on. She still is not quite an independent rider but we have made a start.

Felicity From The 50's!

Have you met "Felicity from the 50's"? She is one of the latest digi release from Angie Delarie. Isn't she adorable! Perhaps she is not much of a beach babe but I do get that holiday vibe from her.

I was playing around with this page and decided to paint a rainbow using my watercolours, what do you think? Something a bit different. I will say though, it did warp my page more than I would have liked. It is not that bad but it does make it harder to photograph with a buckled page.

My Happy Place!

Happy Mothers Day to all you amazing, precious and gorgeous Mothers out there! I hope you are having a special day being thoroughly spoilt by your family!! My eldest daughter Rachael made me a wonderful slideshow of photos of her and me - what special memories!!

Something that you may not know about me is that I've always had a love for horses. Before children I used to love competing in dressage. But after children ... no time for horses it seemed. Well nowadays Rachael occasionally rides my special horse "Wally". He is a gentle giant really and at times still gives Rachael that elegant dressage experience from "back in the day". I find it difficult to teach her to ride myself because I'm too scared she will fall off (yeah, its a mum thing) so I get an instructor to come over occasionally and teach her properly.

The latest digi release from Angie Delarie is "Education Calendar Tags". These are so quirky and perfect on this page. I've also used one of her "vintage love cameras" digis.

Hmmm Coffee!
