My card this week is a card I made for my wonderful hubby for our 5th wedding anniversary last week. The "aniversary gift" for 5 years is wood - thus the reason for using the woodgrain stamp. I was really happy how this turned out! Hubby loved it too!!!

Something New!!

Something new that I'm trying this year is brighter colours (I've always been a real vintage lover). It started when I found these gorgeous October Afternoon papers (Sidewalks) a few weeks ago. I'm also trying to use up the majority of this paper pad before I start another one. Hmmm, lets see how that goes - but you can see from my last few posts that I'm trying hard to do that! So, I'm using a new style, a new paper pad, and a gorgeous new image - isn't "Party Pinkette August" just adorable!!

These are a Few of My Favourite Things!

The Challenge this week at Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges is "Pick any past favourite Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge". Well, so many were my favourite - but I narrowed it down to a combination of "Vintage", "Flowers", and "Use a Doily".
I wanted to try something different with this Christmas card and make the sentiment a focal point. The Pink Victorian Christmas sentiments from the Tickled Pink Stamps are perfect for this.

Lets Get Organised for Christmas!

For the last 3 years I have made a Christmas booklet that stores all my Christmas information such as my Christmas Card list, gift list, November and December Calendars, Christmas day plans, Christmas letter etc. I really prefer to make this by the end of October and it helps me organise myself for this wonderful time of the year.

I normally keep embellishments to a minimum because I prefer to have this booklet sitting flat and compact (I like to carry it with me everywhere while I'm shopping for gifts or doing other Christmas planning) but this one is a bit thicker - personal preference really.

I've used the handsome "Lil Christmas Lad Lestat" this time - this is my husbands Christmas card this year. It's no secret that I love the vintage look and I love to colour in black and white/shades of grey. I think that this should be masculine enough for him too!

"Anything Goes" at Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges!

Oh My Goodness, have you all realised that it is only 7 more weeks until Christmas!! Eeek!!! Well, this week the challenge over at the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge Blog is "Anything Goes" so what a great excuse to join in with this challenge, make a Christmas card, and be in the running to win a great prize!

I've used the gorgeous "Lil Christmas Lolita Christina" which is my favourite Tickled Pink Stamps Christmas image so far. Normally I would sponge the paper edges with ink, but this time I painted with white acrylic paint - nice Christmas effect I think!

Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge #42 - Masculine!

I love the Lil Lad range of stamps and enjoyed making this card with all the craftly sprocket stuff I had in my stash. I even used some glimmer mist on the kraft sprocket die cuts - I liked the effect, I will try and remember to use it more!! My colouring hasnt shown up well in this photo (it is better irl) - I need to not be so afraid of using the darker shades.

I'm having so much fun being on DT for Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge Blog. The challenge this week is "White on White" and we would love for you to join in with this challenge and be in the running to win a great prize! I've seen a few blogs putting out the challenge for all white cards and I think these cards are just stunning.
I will appologise for the photograph. I tried a heap of variations and this is the best I could come up with. I usually play with the white balance but that didnt work this time - just made all the details very hard to see. Then I got a migraine and spent the day in bed so I gave up - will try again next time. I'd love to hear what you think!

Anyways, on to my card ... I tried something very different this time - yes I used colour on my image. I have been colouring in b/w for some time now but have just invested in some colour copics and had to try them out (of course I now have a big list of more colours/shades that I need - hehe). I also wanted to use this gorgeous Lil Lad Damon stamp that I have (but never used - eek). I dont make enough masculine cards, I'm sure many of you are the same - so I'm hoping this will inspire you! Vintage Evie!

Vintage is one of my favourite styles and this Victorian Steampunk Evie from Tickled Pink Stamps is a favourite image of mine - she has such dreamy eyes! I recently ordered some more copics to extend my range (of 5 cool greys haha). Well, I ordered a selection of colours and more greys, and what do you think I had to use - the warm greys (cant seem to easily budge from my monotone colouring hehe). But I think it suits this card.
