Let's Cook!

Before I show you some of my latest SMASH*ing creations I just want to let you know that on 10th October (only 2 sleeps away!) the Smashing Sisters and I are having another fun Blog Hop! Can you guess the theme? Come back on Thursday (approx 12am US PST, 6:30pm Aust CDST) for all the fun and a chance to win some fabby prizes!

My Orange SMASH* journal is dedicated to 2012. I include a calendar of what happens, a top 10 of things I've achieved and some photos. I'm hoping it will be fun to look back on and reflect our achievements. These pages are for July and include a fun baking day - what kid doesnt like to lick the cake mixing spoon! I've used a bright pink Chalkboard mist on these pages - I just love mists at the moment and have been doing lots of experimenting. Here I've just sprayed on the page and I particularly love the random blotches of colour!

I've used a heap of my favourite products here including Amy Tangerine stickers, washi & diecuts, Studio Calico wood veneer word and bird, SMASH* pads, Simple Stories bingo card paper, The Beary Scrap green washi and orange heart washi, Greatest View flat backed buttons, and a doilie & washi from my stash.

Eskimo Kisses!

Aren't family special! Earlier this year we had family visit from USA. We only get to see them every 1-2 years due to the long travel distances but we love seeing them at any and every opportunity (isnt skype fabulous!!). Us adults can always pick up where we left off and we dont seem to change much but children grow and change so quick. My youngest daughter is a very loving girl and she just loved seeing her Aunt and Uncle (and all the wonderful presents they always bring hehe). Eskimo kisses seemed to be popular this visit!! These pages are in my Blue Retro SMASH* book.

I've used a heap of my favourite products here including Dear Lizzie papers, stickers and cardboard diecuts, Studio Calico wood veneers, SMASH* pads, Simple Stories bingo card paper, and a doilie, fabric yo-yo, butterfly, stamps & buttons from my stash.

I've Finished My SMASH* Mini!

I've come to the last of my posts for the July 30 day SMASH* challenge on Facebook. Yay, I've finished my first SMASH book!!

Finally we arrive at Day 30: Why I Love SMASH*ing.

I've covered the front - Kept it simple and used these gorgeous October Afternoon products

Look at the book! My husband laughs every time he sees it. Thats the problem when you use lots of embellishments - but I wouldn't change a thing!!

Next is Day 22 Fabric (LHS) and Day 28 Funny Faces (RHS). Funny faces seem to be a theme in most photos with the girls - so I have to join in of course, lol!

Stamps, Banners and Pink!

Here are some more SMASH* pages to show you (from the July 30 day SMASH* challenge on Facebook).

First is a double SMASH* page done in my mini - the LHS is Day 17 Stamps, and RHS is Day 15 Banners. I have a rather large stamp collection (hides face in shame). The stamps I use for SMASH*ing are very different to the ones I use for cardmaking and I prefer clear stamps for this purpose too. These ones are so fun dont you think?

Next is Day 18 Favourite Colour. I've chosen Pink - definitely a crafting favourite!

SMASH*ing Favourites!

I've got some more pages to show you from the July 30 day SMASH* challenge on Facebook.

First is a double SMASH* page done in my mini - Day 6 Food. We love desserts in our family. I dont tend to cook/eat them at home but we love to enjoy them when we eat out. I've even included some clippings from magazines on these pages - I havent done this before but was perfect for these pages!! Makes me feel hungry just looking at it.

Next is another double SMASH* page (all in my mini) - Day 14 Favourite Someone/s. I couldn't just pick one person for this challenge could I! I've also included a Top 10 of things we love to do - note that number 1 is "Go out for Tea" which ties in with the food/desserts above!!

SMASH*ing Catch Up!

Eek! Its been too long since my last post. Sorry guys (slaps hand). I'm still trying to catch up after a bad flu/cold and now it is school holidays. Although holidays mean a more relaxed schedule the girls like me to be at their constant beck and call!

I've got a heap of SMASH* pages to show you - I'll spread out over a number of posts over the coming days. They are all from the July 30 day SMASH* challenge on Facebook.

First is a double SMASH* page done in my mini - the LHS is day 10 Wings, and RHS is Day 8 Handmade embellishment (I made a fabric yo-yo). I've used mostly Dear Lizzy products on these pages.

Next is another double SMASH* page (also in my mini) - Day 12  Favourite Holiday. Now all holidays are my favourite so this was of our holiday at the time in city Adelaide. I've used mainly Amy Tangerine and Angie Delarie products on these pages.

Mystery At The Fire Station!

Last weekend I found some time to craft and had the opportunity to use some of the new "Mystery"
digis from Angie Delarie. They were perfect for SMASH*ing some photos of my youngest daughter and her pre-school class exploring the Adelaide Fire Station. It was so cute - they all got a try at the fire hose!

I've used my Orange SMASH* folio and I coloured my AD images in Photoshop and printed them out on glossy photo paper. I've also done some more misting and love this effect with the blotches as well as the mist.

I've used a heap of my favourite products here including Amy Tangerine stickers and alphas, Studio Calico wood veneers, a Typo tag, Smiggle stamp, October Afternoon flat backed button, Freckles and Pigtails chevron bag, Tattered Angels chalkboard mist, and a doilie and washi from my stash.

Happy Birthday Honey!!

This week Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring Cupcake Craft Challenges where the theme is "Script and Gold". TPS have been having technical issues with the Shop but keep checking back and it will be fixed shortly.

I made this card for my darling Hubby's birthday. I dont make cards as much lately due to all the SMASH*ing fun I've been having and I was feeling a bit like I had lost my mojo. This Luca image is new for me and it looked so fun that I had to use it. I also love the idea of using playing cards and bottle tops. I was pretty happy with how it worked out. I find masculine cards harder to make, how about you?

Card Recipe:
Stamps : Lil Perfect Match Lad 20's Gangster Luca (Tickled Pink Stamps), Well Scripted sentiment (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock: Confetti white, basic black (Stampin' Up!)
Papers: Sunshine collection (Lost & Found)
Coloured with: Copics (cool Greys)
Other : washi tape (Tim Holtz), car wood veneer (Studio Calico), bottle top (Freckles and Pigtails), playing cards (KaiserCraft), Fleur De Lise accents dies (Spellbinders), transparency(Hambley Screenprints), tag (Stash)

Ready, Set, Go!

Sorry I haven't had much to show you lately. I've been sick with the flu for nearly the last 2 weeks and it has put a complete stop to all fun crafting activities and restricted my blog and FaceBook time - so not fair!

I was however very excited to see my package from the postman on Friday with some of the latest products from the Amy Tangerine "Ready Set Go" release! I've used the stamps, die cuts and stickers on this page. I also bought some of the alphas and puffy stickers - soo cute!!

I've also tried my hand at crocheting some cute butterflies. They were a bit tricky at first as they are quite small but I had fun doing this while I was sick. I also made some hearts and flowers.

I've also used a Freckles and Pigtails flat backed button chevron bag, a Studio Calico wood veneer, a K-Mart flower paper clip, and a doilie, tag, washi, stickles & twine from my stash.

Swimming Lessons!

Today I've got some more SMASH*ing goodness to show you in my orange SMASH* folio. I found time to do 6 pages on the weekend, yay!!!

My youngest daughter has been having swimming lessons for just over 2 years now. Unfortunately she does not enjoy them as much as she should but had heaps of smiles for the camera this day!

I decided to try some paint sprays that I've seen SMASH*ers using lately. On these pages I used a "Smooch" spray. On some other pages I tried glimmer mists and chalk mists. I'm still not really getting the look I'd like but am having fun playing.

I've used a heap of fun photo embellishments and digis from Angie Delarie - they are just perfect for SMASH*ing. I like to colour mine via Photoshop and print out on photo paper.

I've used a heap of my favourite products here including Angie Delarie strawberry & slurpee embellishments and 50's girls & old vintage camera digis, Dear Lizzy cardboard diecuts and date stamp, Amy Tangerine stickers, Studio Calico wood veneer, some Typo tags and stickies, October Afternoon alphas, Freckles and Pigtails flat backed button and chevron bag, and a tag, washi, twine and ribbon from my stash.

SMASH*ing My Top 5 Books!

The latest digi release from the amazingly talented Angie Delarie is called "de Gartrell Vikings". The viking girl reminded me of Katniss from Hunger Games - so went perfectly on this SMASH* page of my favourite books. I coloured this digi using photoshop (I love the bright colours it gives), then I printed it out on photo paper.

This is a double SMASH* page done in my mini for the 30 day SMASH* challenge on Facebook - it is day 24 Favourite Book, and Day 26 Top 5 of your choice (I chose books).

I've used a heap of my favourite products here including Amy Tangerine paperclip, stickers and a stamp, Studio Calico wood veneer, some Typo tags and stickies, October Afternoon papers and alphas, KaiserCraft alphas, SMASH* washi, brad and clip, Martha Stewart paper doilies, Smiggle stamp, Freckles and Pigtails chevron bag, and ribbon from my stash.
