Christmas Planner - with Paper House Productions!

Welcome to the Paper House Productions Holiday Blog Hop!
You should have arrived here from the lovely Christine Meyer, or you can go back to the start here (Giorgia Rossini)

For the Hop I've made a Christmas Planner - essential for my Christmas organisation! Inside I have a card list, gift list, calendar, as well as a place to record the gifts my children receive. I love looking back on gift ideas and interests from year to year and it also reminds me what gifts I gave previous years - so I dont buy the same thing!  I have made a planner for the last 5 years or so and cant start my Christmas shopping without it!
To start with I cut out 4 card bases, this is the foundation of the planner and denotes its size. I also cut out 15 patterned paper mats - I'm using the Red Flannel paper, Reindeer paper, and Deck the Halls paper. For my planner inserts I created my own design using MS Word and printed it out and cut to size.

I used a long arm stapler to staple the card bases together, then I layered and adhered the coloured mats and planner sheets to each page.

For my cover I used my Cameo to cut a card. I like to keep the cover simple and like to have the year visible (for future reference).

Then I collected all my PHP Christmas stickers and puffy stickers - ready for the fun part!
This is what the inside looks like at this point.
Another page.
Here is the finished product. The puffy stickers make it so easy!!

I've used Christmas lights, Santa Hats, Reindeer, Christmas Stocking, and Baby its cold puffy stickers as well as Merry Christmas cardstock stickers.
I keep my embellishing to a minimum so there is plenty of room to write. Also, I don't put any puffy stickers near the spine or it gets too bulky.

These pages are for my Christmas card list.
These pages are for more Christmas cards and the start of the gift list.
These pages are for my Christmas gift list.
These pages are for my family (hubby and the girls) gift list and Christmas notes.
These pages are for recording gifts received - often you immediately forget what you are given (esp with the girls) so this is a great way for them to remember.
These pages are for calendars for November and December - I white down when the Christmas tree gets put up, parade dates etc.
Lastly I have pages for Plans for the day/food ideas and a place to put my Christmas letter. You could customise this to include other events, food planning if you prefer.
This year I purchased a cover for my planner. This is a small version (field note size) of a travellers notebook/midori cover. I purchased mine from Wikidori and love it!!
My planner fits in perfectly - isn't it adorable!!

Have you been inspired to make your own Christmas planner?? I hope so :)

  11. Love your planner. The reindeer cover is fun. the pages are great. Good that they aren't over-embellished.
I need a planner like this for a year-round listing
of cards that I send out. I often make several of one card. I'll send one out and then the next year I can't remember which card I sent - don't know if anybody keeps track of the cards they receive but I'd hate to duplicate.
My family is very small so I don't have too much trouble remembering gifts, etc
    thanks for sharing.
